What's a Decibel HC member actually getting?
Reviews, mostly. Free readers get every public review and every editorial piece. Members get the deep technical writeups, early access to new reviews, member-only video cuts, and — on the higher tiers — virtual time with Joe to talk through their own system. We're a reviewing dealer, not a stocking dealer, so there's no in-person showroom or first-dibs-on-inventory perk.
Can I switch tiers later?
Any time. Upgrade and you get the new perks immediately, prorated for the current cycle. Downgrade and the change takes effect on your next billing date.
How do virtual consultations work?
On the Patron tier you can book up to two 60-minute sessions per year. You send over a brief about your room, current gear, and what you're trying to solve. We do it over video. Joe brings honest opinions on speaker pairings, room treatment, and what to consider next. Everything stays between us — no upsell pressure.
Does membership help me buy speakers from you?
Decibel HC doesn't carry inventory in the traditional sense. We're a transparent dealer-reviewer: we publish honest reviews, and when you're ready to buy, we can connect you to the right authorized channel for the brands we cover. Membership is about access to the reviews and to Joe — not preferred pricing on speakers.
